The Local Grocer is fresh to you and fair to farmers. As we try and source as much of our produce directly from the farmer, we are able to provide our customers with a fresher product and farmers with a fairer price.
Growers are increasingly under pressure to lower their prices and small growers can't make a living anymore simply because prices do not cover the costs of production. However a diversity of small growers is vital to our food systems resilience. By buying produce from a retailer that pays growers 15-20% more for their product you help to support smaller growers and strengthen our food system.
